High School Programs

Mission Statement

The purpose of High School Programs is to provide college course to students still enrolled in high school. Students may earn credits through concurrent enrollment (Huskins Bill), dual enrollment, Tech Prep, or Haywood Early College. HCC partners with Haywood County Schools to serve students at the high school level.

Outcomes
  1. Students earn college credits while still in high school, tuition free.
  2. HCC is perceived as a viable option for higher education increasing enrollment of high schools graduates at HCC.
  3. Relationships with educational partners and the community enhanced.
  4. New avenues of delivering college courses to high school students explored and implemented.
  5. Increased participation rates of high school students taking college courses.

Haywood Community College offers many options for high school students from alternatives to traditional high school settings to the ability to earn college credit while still enrolled in high school.

Alternatives to traditional high school settings include Haywood Early College, the Adult High School Program, and GED.
